Our House Objectives
Our House exists to meet short terms needs and to make a long-term impact.
In the short term, we know our programs are successful when:
- Homeless men, women and children have a safe, clean, comfortable place to come home to after a day at work or school.
- Homeless men, women and children are living drug, alcohol and violence free.
- Homeless adults are working in full-time, permanent jobs.
- Families, individuals and children who lacked shelter, food, decent clothing and hygiene items have sufficient housing and clothing and are regularly eating nutritious meals.
- People who once lacked skills and education obtain the skills and education they need to successfully participate in the workforce.
- Homeless, school-aged children are attending school regularly.
- Homeless children are engaged in activities that give them happiness, engage their minds and teach them to be contributing members of their community.
In the long term, we know our programs have succeeded when:
- People who did not have jobs find and sustain employment.
- People move out of homelessness and into permanent housing.
- People who were once homeless and jobless are now successful, contributing members of the workforce, the community and their own families.
- Parents who were once homeless gain the ability to successfully provide for and take care of their own children (both financially and personally).
- Children who have been through our programs improve their grades in school, become more confident and happier.
